Clinton “Doug” Thompson; 80

Clinton “Doug” Thompson, 80 of Shelbiana, KY passed away October 29, 2025 at his residence. Doug was born Feb. 26, 1945 in Pike Co, KY to the late Clinton Thompson and Bessie Marie May Thompson. In addition to his parents, Doug was preceded in death by his wife Linda Pearl Thacker Thompson and one sister Annette Stanley. Doug is survived by one son, Terry (Angie Potter) Thompson of Shelbiana, KY and one daughter; Cynthia (Gary) Sykes of Elkhorn City, KY, one grandson; Clinton Jesse (C.J.) Thompson of Lower Pompey, and two granddaughters; Olivia Michelle Sykes and Marissa Danielle Sykes of Elkhorn City, KY. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Doug was a member of and clerk for the Philadelphia Old Regular Baptist Church. Doug was also a United States Army Vietnam.

Visitation will be held at the Bailey Funeral Home Chapel Friday, October, 31st and Saturday, November, 1st from 6 - 10 PM. Services will be held nightly at 7:00 PM with Old Regular Baptist ministers officiating. The funeral will be held Sunday, November 2, 2025 at 11:00 AM from the Bailey Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Annie E. Young Cemetery, Pikeville, KY.
