Paula McCarty, 59

Paula Kaye Edmonds McCarty, 59 of Ashcamp, KY, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on October 08, 2025 surrounded by her loving family after courageously battling ovarian cancer for 18 years.

Born to the late Paul “Pete” Edmonds and Joan Ratliff Edmonds on April 6th 1966 in Ary, KY, lived her life with unshakeable faith and compassion. Her strength through years of illness was a true testimony to her trust in God’s promises and her belief that His plan was always greater than her pain.

Paula married her husband, Joey McCarty on September 24th 1989 and together they share three children, Kasey Elizabeth McCarty (Jordan Hall), Hollie Leigh Anne McCarty, and Joshua Nelson McCarty (Annly). She has three special grandkids, Michael, Anna and Andy.

Paula was a devoted wife, mother, friend and sister, who poured love into everyone she met. She had a servant’s heart-always ready with a helping hand or a prayer for someone in need. Her gentle spirit and unwavering faith touched countless lives and will continue to inspire all who knew her.

She was a member of Elkhorn Community Church, where she faithfully served and worshiped for many years. Even in her hardest moments, she never lost her joy or her gratitude.

She is survived by her husband, children, and brothers, Greg (Gay) Edmonds, Charles (Kristi) Edmonds, and brother-in-law, Jody (Sherry) McCarty. Nieces and Nephews, Hannah, Zachary, Jon Austin, Jordan, Ciera, Jarrett and Jace and a host of friends and family who will miss her dearly.

She is reunited in Heaven with her parents, and her brother, Johnny Edmonds.

Visitation will be from 6-10PM Friday, October 10, 2025 at the Bailey Funeral Home Chapel with a service at 7PM. The funeral service will be conducted Saturday, October 11, 2025 at 12PM from the chapel with Joshua McCarty and Lee Overstreet officiating. Burial will follow at the McCarty Cemetery, Lower Pigeon, KY.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Gideon’s International Bible Fund.

Though her earthly journey has ended, Paula’s faith, love, and legacy will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her. “Well done, good and faithful servant.”—Matthew 25:23
