Vondel Hunt, 74 of Mouthcard, KY passed away Sunday, September 13, 2026 at UKMC. He was a retired coal miner. Vondel was born March 02, 1954 at Lick Creek, KY to the late Lloyd Hunt and Evaline Abshire Hunt. In addition to his parents, Vondel was preceded in death by his wife, Sandy Harrison Hunt, and brothers, Bobby Abshire and Paul Randall Hunt.

Vondel is survived by two sons, Brady Hunt of Mouthcard, KY and Chadwick Hunt of West Liberty, KY; grandchildren, Austin Hunt and Shaylee Hunt; and sisters, Adarine Thacker of Lick Creek, KY, Velvet Estep and Thelma Freeman both of Feds Creek, KY and Jeanetta Norling of Paulding, OH.

Visitation will be from 6-10 Tuesday, September 15 and Wednesday, September 16, 2026 at the Bailey Funeral Home Chapel with services nightly at 7PM. The funeral service will be held Thursday, September 17, 2026 at 12PM from the chapel with Rick Fuller and Chris Abshire officiating. Entombment will follow at Mt. Valley Memorial Park, Big Rock, VA.
