Virginia Lee "Jenny" Hawkins, 80 of Elkhorn City, KY passed away Thursday, February 22, 2024 at Pikeville Medical Center. She was a member of the Elkhorn City Church of Christ.

Jenny was born June 28, 1943 in Phelps, KY to the late Sydney Smith and Elizabeth Boyd Smith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant brother; sisters, Della Mae Baker, Pauline Stump, Anna Marie Chapman, Patricia Rose Wagner, Betty Sue Proiette, Jacqueline Smith and Francis Jean Michaeliszym.

Jenny is survived by her husband, Ed Hawkins of Elkhorn City, KY; a son, Kenneth Roy Hawkins of Lexington, KY; two daughters, Kathy Slone of Elkhorn City, KY and Mary Elizabeth Hawkins Morton of Ashcamp, KY; seven grandchildren, Carrie Ann Adkins, William Travis Slone, Benjamin Lee Slone, Samantha Lee Prater, Faith Elizabeth Fleming, Kenneth Wyatt Hawkins and William Kelly Hawkins; and ten great-grandchildren.

Jenny is also survived by brothers, Franklin Smith of Richlands, VA and Johnny Smith of Cynthiana, KY; sisters, Billie Jean Hatfield and Audrey June Smith both of Phelps, KY.

Visitation will be Sunday, February 25, 2024 from 6-10PM at the Bailey Funeral Home Chapel with a service at 7PM. The funeral service will be held on Monday, February 26, 2024 at 2PM from the chapel with Jim Ed Belcher and Chris Maynard officiating. Burial will follow at the Hawkins Cemetery, Ashcamp, KY.
