Verna Lucille Puckett, 83 of Elkhorn City, KY passed away Thursday, January 18, 2024 at Landmark of Elkhorn. Verna was a homemaker and a member of the Elkhorn City Church of God. She was born April 15, 1940, at Ashcamp, KY to the late Isaac Sanders and Bessie Baker Sanders. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Puckett.

Verna is survived by two sons, Michael Puckett of Statesville, NC and Clayton Puckett of Pikeville, KY; seven grandchildren, Caitlyn Puckett, Holly Justice, Shellie Cure, Mikey Puckett, Brandon Puckett, Mika Puckett and Elijah Puckett; and seven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by four brothers, Victor Sanders, Adam Sanders, Lacey Sanders and Charles Sanders and two sisters, Violet Addington and Kathy Jona.

Visitation will be from 6-10PM Monday, January 22, 2024 at the Bailey Funeral Home Chapel with a service at 7PM. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at 2PM from the chapel with Scottie Adkins officiating. Burial will follow at the Elkhorn City Cemetery.
