Sharon Sanders, 84 of Ashcamp, Ky. was born on Sept. 5, 1941 in Chicago, IL. and passed away on Saturday, Feb. 7, 2026 at the Pikeville Medical Center. She was the daughter of Glen Peter Wilson and Betty Mutz Gatling who preceded her in death. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband; Hiram Clinton Sanders. Sharon was a member of the Hylton Freewill Baptist Church and a homemaker. She is survived by a son; Alan Clinton (Sherry) Sanders of Pikeville, Ky. and daughters; Cheri (Charlie) Gortney and Kimber Lee Spears of Ashcamp, Ky., grandchildren; Joshua Alan Sanders, Tony Gortney, Amity Varney, Jackie Lynn Blackburn, Samantha Lee Leslie, Ronald Nathan Smith, Nicholas Lee Smith; great grandchildren; Bell Gortney, Gracie Gortney, Colten Varney, Lincoln Varney, Chelsea Blackburn, George Maxwell, Daniel Leslie, Gabe Leslie, Sarah Leslie, Coralee Leslie, & Nathan Hayes Smith; great great grandchildren; Ivry and Oaklynn Gortney. Visitation will be on Monday, September 9, 2026 at the Hylton Freewill Baptist Church with a service at 7:00. Funeral service will be on Tuesday, Feb 10, 2026 at 2:00 with Van Swindall and others officiating. Burial will follow in the Sanders Family Cemetery at Lower Pigeon at Ashcamp, Ky.
