Samuel Griffey, 82 of Steele, Ky. was born on Nov. 8, 1942 at Steele, Ky. and passed away at his home on Friday, July 4, 2025. He was a retired coal miner and attended the Kimber Church of God. He was the son of Roscoe Griffey and Leona Hunt Griffey, who preceded him in death. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandchild, Courtney Cline, and brothers Clyde, Gene Wendell, Charles David, and William Ernest Griffey.

Samuel is survived by his wife, Juanita Baker Griffey of 59 years Steele, KY; sons, Samuel (Reanna) Griffey, Jr. of Pikeville, KY and Mathew (Anissa) Griffey of Steele, KY; daughter, Kimberly (Britt) Keaton of Galax, VA; grandchildren, Trey Keaton, Skylar Keaton, Erin Griffey Caroline Dotson, Alena Dotson, Tanner Thacker & Karli Jae Cline; and special god child, Wessa Miller.

Visitation will be Saturday, July 12, 2025, from 11 AM-12 PM at the Bailey Funeral Home Chapel, with the funeral service to begin at 12 PM with Robert Coleman and Eddie Dotson officiating. Burial will follow at the Jones Fork Cemetery, Steele, KY.
