Raleigh Reed Hunt, 78 of Phyllis, KY passed away Thursday, August 13, 2026 at his residence. Raleigh was born February 08, 1948 at Feds Creek, KY to the late Thelma Ward Hunt. In addition to his mother, Raleigh was preceded in death by three brothers; Roger, Clark, and Mark Hunt, and one sister; Barbara Ellen Abshire. 

Raleigh is survived by his wife; Wanda Hunt of Kimper, KY, one son; Waylon Reed Hunt of Ashland, KY, two step-sons; Russell (Jennifer) West of Harold, KY and Tony Randall West of Kimper, KY, one brother; Daniel (Rhonda) Hunt of Morehead, KY, three sisters; Geneva Faye Baker of Phyllis, KY, Brenda Kay Abshire of Phyllis, KY, and Sharon Lynn (Johnny) Griffith of Phyllis, KY. He is also survived by four grandchildren; Samuel Kane West, Dylan Keegan West, Emily West, and Erin West and three great grandchildren; William West, Leah Kay West, and Lily West. 

Raleigh was a United States Army Veteran, a welder and fabricator for Ford Motor Company, and a member of the Family Outreach Center, Mouthcard, KY. 

Visitation will be held Sunday, August 16, 2026 from 6 - 10 PM at the Bailey Funeral Home Chapel. Services will begin at 7:00 with Robert Coleman, Tony Lowe, and Eddie Dotson officiating. The funeral will be conducted Monday, August 17, 2026 at 1:00 PM from The Bailey Funeral Home Chapel and burial will follow at the Varney Branch Cemetery, Kimper, KY.
