Leo Murphy, 76 of Mouthcard, Ky. was born on December 31, 1948 in Edo, Ky. and passed away at home on Aug. 13, 2025. He was the son of Harrison and Ora Varney Murphy who preceded him in death. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brothers; Shelly, Avery, Mike and Fonso and sisters; Gerelene Taylor and Helen Darnell. Leo was a member of the Mt. View Church of Christ at Mouthcard, Ky. and a magistrate in Pike County. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Janice Darnell Murphy, a son; Richard (Misty) Murphy of Mouthcard, Ky., a daughter; Shawna (John) Dotson of Georgetown, Ky., brother; Audie Murphy of Phyllis, a sister; Shirley Elliott of Chicago, Illinois, grandchildren; Triston Dotson, Chandler Dotson, Ashton Dotson, Taylor Madison (David) Chaney, Tatiana Murphy and Raiden Murphy, 3 great grandchildren; Abel Chaney, Iris Chaney and Naomi Chaney. A Visitation will be in the Bailey Funeral Home Chapel from 6:00-10:00 PM on Thursday, Aug. 14, 2025, 8:00 AM-10:00 PM on Friday, August 15, 2025. The funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at 1:00 in the Bailey Funeral Home Chapel with Steve Cantrell officiating. Entombment will follow in the J. U. Thacker Mausoleum in Pikeville, Ky.
