Jimmy Kilgore, 55 of Raccoon, Ky. was born on Aug. 4, 1970 in Pikeville, Ky. and passed away in the Cornerstone Specialist Hospital in Huntington, WV on Friday, Oct. 3, 2025. He is the son of James and Ruth Lowery Kilgore of Lick Creek, Ky. He was a member of the Poor Bottom Freewill Baptist Church and a truck driver for Apex Coal Company. In addition to his parents he is survived by his wife; Rhonda Lee Harmon Kilgore, sons; Austin Collins of Raccoon, Ky., Paul Collins, Jr. of Millard, Ky. and Kyle Collins of Raccoon, Ky., and a daughter; Brandi Vanover of Raccoon, Ky.brothers; Timothy Wayne Kilgore of Elkhorn City, Ky. and James Kilgore, Jr. of Harold, Ky. a sister; Ruthie Lynn Pelton of Prestonsburg, Ky. grandchildren; Kayelynn Collins, Alanna Collins, Jasper Vanover, Malory Vanover and Raylan Vanover. Visitation will be in the Poor Bottom Freewill Baptist Church after 6:00 on Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2025 with services at 7:00 nightly. Officiating ministers will be Richard Gibson and Others. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, 11:00 on Oct. 9, 2025 in the Poor Bottom Freewill Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Bowling Family Cemetery.
