James Fields, 77 of Elkhorn City, was born on December 8, 1947 in Coon Creek, Ky. and passed away at home on Thursday, August 7, 2025. James was the son of John Henry and Angie Caroline Slone Fields who preceded him in death. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brothers; John Wesley, Lonnie and Freddie Fields, sisters; Dorothy Lea Thacker, Betty Rafferty, Hazel Rundlett, Gloria Jean Fields and Ida Mae Fields. Survivors are his wife; Sandy Chaney Fields, a daughter; Jamie Denise Bolden, grandchildren; Zackary Baker, Tyler Baker, Jesse James Bolden, Austin Bolden, Shane Bishop, Candice Bishop, Jonluke Fields & Aaron Fields, step-son; Jason Bishop and step-daughter; Madonna Fields. Visitation will be in the Glory Bound Freewill Baptist Church at Ashcamp, Ky., on Saturday, August 9, 2025 with a service at 7:00 with Edgar Sanders officiating. Funeral service will be conducted on Sunday, August 10, 2025, at 2:00 PM at the church.
