Herman Dean Spears, 68 of Mouthcard, KY passed away Friday, July 03, 2026 at UKMC. Herman was born June 23, 1958 in Pikeville, KY to the late Herman Eugene Spears and Mildred Williamson. In addition to his parents, Herman was preceded in death by brothers, Franklin, Freddie and Danny Spears and a sister, Barbara Ratliff. 

Herman is survived by his wife, Norma Jean Spears of Mouthcard, KY; two sons, Justin Ryan (Miranda) Spears of Georgetown, KY and Erik Dean Spears of Marrowbone, KY and two grandchildren, Aubree Jean Spears and Carter Smith. He is also survived by two brothers, Gregory (Carmelleta) Spears and Kenneth Spears both of Elkhorn City, KY and two sisters, Aleta Gail (Dale) Thacker and Katie (Robert) Thacker of Shelby, KY.

Visitation will be from 6-10PM Monday, July 06, 2026 at the Bailey Funeral Home Chapel with a service at 7PM. The funeral service will be conducted Tuesday, July 07, 2026 at 3PM from the chapel with Hobert McCoy officiating. Burial will follow at Jean Griffith Cemetery, Mouthcard, KY.
