Fred Roberts, Jr., 75 of Grundy VA passed away Monday, February 26, 2024 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. He was a retired coal miner and a US Navy Veteran. He served on the USS Philip with Company 63. Fred was born on January 20, 1949 in Krollitz, WV to the late Fred Roberts, Sr. and Virginia Spence Roberts. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Heather Brooke Keen and an infant brother and sister. Fred is survived by his wife, Virginia Adkins Roberts of Grundy, VA; a daughter, Patricia Keen of Honaker, VA; a son, Steven Roberts of Oakwood, VA; step-sons, Mark Farmer, Eugene Farmer, Johnny Farmer, and Clifford Farmer, Jr.; grandchildren, James Herman "Hank" Keen and Amanda Rose Keen; step-grandchildren, Natasha Hurley, Barbara Mullins, Christie Stiltner and Heather Stiltner; and great-grandchild, Heath Lee McClanahan. He is also survived by two aunts Josephine of Mohawk, WV and Viola of Coalwood, WV.
