Edford "Ed" Hawkins, 85 of Elkhorn City, KY passed away Sunday, May 19, 2024 at his home. Ed was a teacher for KY Department of Corrections and a member of the Elkhorn City Church of Christ. He was born December 15, 1938 at Draffin, KY to the late Roy Hawkins and Gustie Swiney Hawkins. In addition to his parents, Ed was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia "Jenny" Smith Hawkins, and a brother, Edgar Hawkins.

Ed is survived by a son, Kenneth Hawkins of Lexington, KY; two daughters, Kathy Slone of Elkhorn City, KY and Mary Hawkins Morton of Ashcamp, KY; seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a brother, James Edward Hawkins of Draffin, KY and two sisters, Shelby Hawkins of Ashcamp, KY and Charlene Sykes of Tallahassee, FL.

Visitation will be from 6-10PM Wednesday, May 22, 2024 at the Bailey Funeral Home Chapel with a service at 7PM. The funeral will be conducted Thursday, May 23, 2024 at 11AM from the chapel with Jim Ed Belcher and Chris Maynard. Burial will follow at the Roy Hawkins Cemetery, Ashcamp, KY.
