Earnest Blaine Owens, 79 of Haysi, Virginia was born on April 12, 1946 in Haysi, Va. and passed away on Saturday, May 10, 2025 in the Heritage Hall Nursing Home in Grundy, Va. He was the son of James Walter Owens and Vertie Triplett Owens who have preceded him in death. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife; Bethel Deel Owens, brothers; Jack, Fairley and James W. Owens, Jr., sisters; Allene Deel, Joann Deel and Nadine Conaway. He is survived by a son; Earnest Dwayne Owens of Haysi, and 2 daughters; Crystal Ann Kelly of Haysi and Rebecca Louise Fuller of Lebanon, Va., sisters; Pauline Deel of Greenbrier, Va., Elizabeth Dales of Bristol, Va. and Nell Boyd of Greenbrier, Va., 5 grandchildren; Johnathan Blaine Kelly, Misty Dawn Ferrell, Russell Jase Kelly, Jerry Shane Fuller and Amy Louise Rose and 7 great grand-children; Madision Ann Kelly, Wyatt Mack Kelly, Lucas Kane Ferrell, Liam Carter Ferrell, Ian Blaine Fuller, Emma Louise Rose and Mia Beth Rose. Visitation will be in the Splashdam Freewill Baptist Church in Haysi, Va., after 6:00 PM on Sunday, May 11, 2025 and a service at 7:00. Funeral service will be on Monday, May 12, 2025 at 12:00 with Danny Sluss officiating. Burial will follow in the George Deel Cemetery in Haysi, Virginia.
