Clifford Newsome, 84 of Ashcamp, KY passed away Wednesday, May 21, 2025 at his residence. Clifford was a retired federal mine inspector and a US Army Veteran. He was born June 10, 1940 at Biscuit, KY (Pike County) to the late Ted Newsome and May Bryant Newsome. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two step-sons, Charles Rucker and Michael Cook, a brother, Tivis Newsom and a sister, Mildred Anderson.

Clifford is survived by his wife, Michiyo Cook Newsome of Ashcamp, KY; a son, Michael Newsome of Banner, KY; a daughter, Lisa Carol Newsome Bowman of Pikeville, KY; grandchildren, Kendra Shay (Dalton) Kidd, Rachel McKenna Bowman, Chayse McKinley Bowman, Angelena Marshalle Newsome, and Brayden Michael Newsome. He is also survived by brothers, Bobby (Mildred) Newsom of Robinson Creek, KY and Paul Dean (Kolene) Newsom of Lexington, KY and sister, Glenda Faye Akers of Robinson Creek, KY.

Visitation will be after 6PM Friday, May 23, 2025 at the Hylton Freewill Baptist Church with a song service at 7PM. The funeral service will be conducted Saturday, May 24, 2025 at 1PM from the church with Van Swindall and Gary Collins officiating. Burial will follow at the Cook Family Cemetery, Marion Branch, Ashcamp, KY.
