Sarah "Cathy" Bailey Deel, 70 of Haysi, Va. was born on Feb. 19, 1954 in Grundy, Va. and passed away on Sept. 20, 2024 in the Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport, Tn. She was the daughter of Monroe and Nell Mullins Bailey who preceded her in death. Cathy was a member of the Emmanuel Regular Baptist Church in Haysi, Va. and a teacher in the Dickenson County School System. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband; Ralph Percy Deel. Survivors are a son; Ralph Nathan Deel of Haysi, a brother; Tony (Cathy) Bailey of Winchester, Ky., a niece; Ashley (Clifton) Kennon, a nephew; Bo Edwards and a sister- in- law; Susan Edwards. Visitation will be Monday, 1:00, Sept. 23, 2024 in the Emmanuel Regular Baptist Church in Haysi, Va. Funeral service will be held on Monday, 2:00 in the church with Toby Bailey and others officiating. Burial will follow in the Bailey Owens Cemetery in Haysi, Va.
