Betty Sue Vance, 76 of Paynesville, WV was born on February 11, 1948 in Paynesville, WV and passed away at the Johnston Memorial Hospital in Abingdon, Va. on Thursday, June 27, 2024 after a brief illness. She was the daughter of George and Roma Vance Payne who preceded her in death. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a daughter; Tammy Denise Vance Dobbs, a brother; Louie Payne and a sister; Peggy Lynn Owens. Betty was a member of the Bible Baptist Church in Pilgrims Knob, Va., and a homemaker. She loved working in her garden and flowers, loved cooking and baking and most of all loved playing with her great-grandchildren. She is survived by her husband; Arnold Vance, grandchildren; Kevin Justin Vance and Dakota Dobbs both of Paynesville, WV, great-grandchildren; Gracleigh and Paisleigh Dobbs, a sister; Patty Mullins of Slate Creek, Va.and a son-in-law; Don Dobbs. Visitation will be in the Bradshaw Mountain Community Church in Paynesville, WV on Sunday, June 30, 2024 after 6:00 PM. Funeral service will be conducted on Monday, 1:00 PM, July 1, 2024 with J. R. Justus and Hobert Kennedy officiating. Burial will follow in the Perry Vance Cemetery in Rockridge, WV.
