Audie Murphy, 66 of Phyllis, KY passed away Thursday, September 24, 2026 at Pikeville Medical Center. He was a retired coal miner. Audie was born August 24, 1960 at Grapevine, KY to the late Harrison Murphy and Ora Varney Murphy. In addition to his parents, Audie was preceded in death by siblings, Shelly Murphy, Avery Murphy, Fonso Murphy, Leo Murphy, Mike Murphy, Helen Darnell and Geralene Taylor.

Audie is survived by his wife, Christine Ann Boulton Murphy of Phyllis, KY; sons, Matthew Murphy of Winchester, KY and Andrew Murphy of Tram, KY; a daughter, Jane Morris of Barry, South Wales; grandchildren, Tyler Murphy, Ayden Murphy, Noah Murphy, Logan Johnson, Bradley Morris, Shannon Morris and Rebecca Morris. Audie is also survived by a sister, Shirley Ellitott of Chicago, IL.

Visitation will be from 6-10PM Sunday, September 27 and Monday, September 28, 2026 at the Bailey Funeral Home Chapel with services nightly at 7PM. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, September 29, 2026 at 1PM from the chapel with Dwayne Abshire and Joe Horne officiating. Burial will follow at Murphy Family Cemetery, Phyllis, KY.
